Mainichi Shimbun is reporting that Suzuki Motor Corp. plans to discontinue selling the Chevrolet brand in Japan by year's end. With the liquidation of most of General Motors' Suzuki shares last March, this was a rather somewhat predictable outcome. That said, neither Suzuki or GM are officially commenting on the report.

Good for Suzuki! They've got some sharp looking designs and some great potential. If they can successfully shed GM and stand on their own 2 feet, they stand a chance of really becoming a competative car company. I've got a Suzuki Cruiser bike, and it's a very well built machine that's inexpensive and has loads of standard features. If they can continue producing eye catching designs while improving quality and developing their own content, we might start talking about Suzuki more commonly.

I am so glad that Suzuki is breaking thier ties with GM. Now they can do their own thing. The quality and price will only improve. I HATE GM and hope they go BANKO.

why would anyone sell stupid american cars designed by stupid americans in Japan where so many fine and intelligent Japanese designed cars are available.

It's funny, you don't hear a peep about people liking Suzuki until they break off from GM... Yes, GM was holding back their design creativity, their quality and price competitiveness... Yeah, OK!!!
